Detroit Free Press Programs
DNIE offers a variety of programs that include sponsored classroom delivery of electronic replica (digital) editions - e-Editions of the Detroit Free Press OR customer paid print delivery on Thursdays, Fridays or Sundays.

Our educational rate for e-Editions is 15 cents per copy Mondays through Saturdays, but sponsorship is available for e-Editions - while funds last.

Customer paid print copies are available at 25 cents per copy on Thursdays and Fridays; 75 cents Sunday. Due to a funding shortfall, we no longer offer sponsorship of print copies of the Free Press.

    An e-Ed Home Run for Health 100% sponsored Tigers program
    The Home Run for Health: Covering All the Bases (grades 3-8) program provides tips on the importance of exercise and nutrition, with examples from Detroit Tigers players and their strength and conditioning coach. This program will motivate kids to get moving and eat healthy foods if they want to succeed in baseball, in the classroom and in life! That's why the Detroit Tigers - along with sponsors DMC, The Skillman Foundation and The Detroit Tigers Foundation - teamed up with Detroit Free Press Newspapers in Education to bring the Homerun for Health program to Michigan schools. This fully sponsored program is available with Friday to Friday delivery of e-Editions of the Free Press.

    The program includes three (3) products:
  • Access to 25 to 200 e-Editions (electronic replicas) of the Detroit Free Press for eight days - beginning on a Friday and ending on a Friday.
  • one (1) FREE PRINT delivery on a Friday of a 16-page student supplement with tips on exercise and nutrition.

    Stealing Buddha's Dinner FREE supplement - April 2, 2010
    The Michigan Humanities Council "Great Michigan Read," is a book club for the entire state. The book chosen for the 2009-10 statewide focus is "Stealing Buddha's Dinner," a memoir that chronicles author Bich Minh Nguyen's migration from Vietnam in 1975 and her coming of age in Grand Rapids, Michigan in the 1980s. It encourages Michiganians to learn more about their state, their history, and their society.

    The Michigan Humanities Council partnered with the Detroit Free Press to produce a 16-page special section that contains a full chapter from the book, along with additional background on the author, essays on related topics, and discussion questions. The section was included in all editions of the Friday, October 9 Free Press.

    Michigan high schools may request FREE copies of the insert for classroom use. Delivery will be made for the third semester on Friday, April 2 to all schools to which DNIE can deliver.

    Stealing Buddha's Dinner FREE supplement - Jan. 29 delivery
